Daytona Beach, FL. (February 20, 2011) - When the green flag dropped Sunday afternoon on the 53rd running of the Daytona 500 Jamie McMurray was trying to become only the fourth driver in the history of the event to post back-to-back victories in the "Great American Race", and the first since Sterling Marlin won in 1994 and 1995. Joining only Cale Yarborough (83-84) and seven time Daytona 500 Champion Richard Petty (73-74) as the other two drivers that have accomplished the feat.

The Bass Pro Shops team started from the 14th position and quickly went to work with teammate Juan Pablo Montoya paring up as drafting partners and making their way through the field, leading three times for a total of 11 laps. The teammates worked together all day according to plan, even giving up track position on a few occasions to drop back through the field to help each other out. McMurray and team will leave Daytona in 17th position in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Points standings.

"We had a good car all day that was capable of running up front. Other than taking tires on a few occasions, our chassis adjustments to the car were limited. In the closing laps we just had some mechanical difficulties that dropped us of the pace, but I am proud of how our team worked hard, and with the luck of a few cautions at the end we were able to stay on the lead lap and bring home a top-20 finish."

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will move on to Phoenix International Raceway for the Subway Fresh Fit 500 this Sunday February 27th at 3pm (ET); the event will be televised on FOX, and MRN Radio affiliates.
