27th PLACE FINISH FOR BASS PRO SHOPS TEAM AT CHARLOTTE

CONCORD, N.C. (October 15, 2011) – The No. 1 Bass Pro Shops/Arctic Cat Chevrolet started the Bank of America 500 from the 27th-position on Saturday night under the lights at Charlotte Motor Speedway.  The No.1 team made several changes throughout the event to adjust the handling on the race car, however two untimely cautions slowed the field shortly after the No. 1 team made green flag stops leaving Jamie McMurray two laps down in the end with a 27th-place finish.

Jamie McMurray started the race and immediately reported handling concerns.  With several adjustments throughout the 334 lap event, the team would continue to provide McMurray with quick pit stops and strategy to gain track position.  In the end, the two cautions that were displayed within a few laps of pitting under green flag conditions would leave McMurray two laps down and the team was unable to overcome the deficit, resulting in a 27th-place finish.

McMurray commented following the race, “I wish we could have caught a couple of breaks tonight.  The cautions that came out right after we pitted really hurt our chances of a better finish.  Our car was much better than the final result of 27th and I hate that our guys worked so hard for that outcome.”

Next weekend the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will be at Talladega SuperSpeedway for the Good Sam Club 500, the race will take place at 2:00 p.m. (ET) Sunday October 23rd, and will be covered live on ESPN and MRN radio affiliated stations.
