MONTOYA EARNS POLE, MCMURRAY TO START 16TH

Montoya wins eighth career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coors Light Pole award and first pole of 2012 for Team Target.
 
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) teams qualified at Pocono Raceway for Sunday’s Pennsylvania 400.

• This is Montoya’s fourth career pole on a 2.5-mile track (2 Talladega, 1 Indianapolis, 1 Pocono)
• Montoya’s last pole came at the Spring Richmond race in 2011
• McMurray, the 2005 pole winner of this same race at Pocono will make is 20th NSCS start at the “Tricky Triangle”
• The Pennsylvania 400 will be just the second NSCS race since 1974 held at the track to be 400 miles in length.  The previous 68 races were all 500 miles in distance
 
The Pennsylvania 400 at Pocono Raceway will air live Sunday August 5 on ESPN and radio stations affiliated with MRN at 1:00 pm ET.
