Montoya Announced the Winner of his Design Contest

Juan Pablo  Montoya announced this week the winners of the contest "Design Juan Pablo Montoya's helmet with Colombia is Passion Foundation ": Sebastián Ramirez, from Soacha, and Maria Paula Valera, from Bogota, were the winners who will travel with the Colombian driver to Daytona next July 3, as his personal guests.
 
Sebastían won in the 10 to 13 years class, and Maria Paula in the 14 to 17 years category. The drawing of Maria Paula will be painted on Montoya’s helmet, and it will be used  on the race as a symbolic support to the environmental care in the World Year of the Biodiversity.
 
"In my drawing I wanted to show the happiness of the Colombian people, its holidays and all the things that represent us such as our coffee and our music,” remarked contest winner Maria Paula.
 
The diversity of Colombia was the theme of the contest which aimed to invite the Colombian children to design JPM's helmet. During the contest Formula Smiles Foundation and Colombia is Passion Foundation received almost a thousand different designs.
 
"I have followed Montoya since his CART days, then onto Formula 1 and now in NASCAR", commented Sebastián Ramirez who has a big collection of Colombian driver, and proved to be a huge fan.
 
With this initiative, Colombia is Passion Foundation and the Formula Smiles Foundation sought to encourage the Colombian children to send an ecological and  brotherhood message in the International Year of the Biodiversity.

Formula Smiles Foundation was created by Juan Pablo Montoya and his wife Connie Freydell to improve the quality of life of the Colombian childhood through sports and outdoor activities.
