Jamie McMurray To Pilot The No.1 Suave Chevrolet At New Hampshire

CONCORD, N.C. (June 24, 2009) – Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates and Unilever brand Suave announce today that Suave will serve as the primary sponsor on the No. 1 Chevrolet, driven by 2010 Daytona 500 Champion, Jamie McMurray at the June 27 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at New Hampshire International Speedway.
As part of their partnership with Chip Ganassi Racing Teams, Inc. the brand also served as primary sponsor of 2010 Indianapolis 500 Champion, Dario Franchitti at this year’s IZOD IndyCar Series event for the Inaugural Alabama Grand Prix at Barber Motorsports Park.
The partnership with the team is a follow-up from last year’s program where Unilever brand Vaseline MEN served as the primary sponsor for one race with Dario Franchitti at Edmonton and the No.1 Team at Dover and Martinsville.

McMurray at Loudon: Jamie McMurray will be making his 15th career NSCS start at Loudon this weekend when he takes the green flag in his No. 1 Suave Chevrolet. McMurray’s best NSCS start came during the second-race in 2003 when he started third and finished tenth. McMurray has one top-5, three top-10, and five top-15 finishes in the NSCS at the track located north of Boston.
McMurray History: The Joplin, MO native, and newly crowned 2010 Daytona 500 Champion, has won four NSCS races since he entered the series near the end of 2002. In his seven years and 274 races at NASCAR’s highest level he has 34 career top-five finishes, 85 top-10 results, and five pole awards. McMurray shocked the racing world in 2002 when he won his first NSCS race while racing for CGRFS in only his second NSCS start and set a modern-era NASCAR record by becoming the quickest driver to win a cup race. The 2003 Rookie of the Year has finished in the top-20 in points in five of his seven seasons on the Cup circuit with a best finish of 11th in 2004.
