Montoya Displays the Winning Helmet at Daytona International Speedway

Last month Juan Pablo Montoya announced the winners of the “Design Juan Pablo Montoya’s helmet with Colombia is Passion Foundation” contest.  This weekend at Daytona International Speedway one of the two contest winners, Maria Paula Valera, from Bogota, will accompany the Colombian driver as his personal guest.   Maria Paula won in the 14 to 17 years category.  Sebastián Ramirez, from Soacha, was unable to attend this weekend but won the 10 to 13 years age group.

The diversity of Colombia, specifically the International Year of the Biodiversity, was the theme of the contest which aimed to invite Colombian children to design Montoya’s helmet.  During the contest Formula Smiles Foundation and Colombia is Passion Foundation received almost a thousand different designs.

The drawing of Maria Paula Valera is painted on Montoya’s helmet for Saturday’s Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola.  The drawing is a symbolic support to the environmental care in the World Year of the Biodiversity.

Formula Smiles Foundation was created by Juan Pablo Montoya and his wife Connie Freydell to improve the quality of life of the Colombian childhood through sports and outdoor activities.
